I had a fun, extended family, snow man building session on Friday. We don't have snow around here very often and this is the first time I've had a session on a day with snow. I enjoyed photographing everyone playing in the snow.

Giving is Awesome
I've received some incredible nominees for the Giving is Awesome - $1000 worth of photography, click here for more details.
I originally planned to announce the winner tomorrow on Christmas Eve, but I'm going to extend it to New Years Eve because I'm having a hard time choosing and I'm going to spend tomorrow with my family enjoying my first ever white Christmas. So, if you haven't nominated someone yet, you have until midnight 12/30. Get those nominees in - I know you know someone.
A few weeks back, I did a photo session with my kids and their Allen cousins in the hopes of getting a Christmas photos for Grandma. We do this every few years and I'm happy to report that now that the youngest cousin is seven, it is quite a bit easier than in years past. Here are a few of the highlights.
These three photos became a super cute storyboard.
And this one became a beautiful, 16x20 canvas.

Snowed In!
The snow we had last weekend was nothing compared to what we have now! We've had a crazy weather week. On Wednesday we got a dusting of snow in the morning and a huge snow storm was forecasted for later in the day so school was cancelled. As it turns out, we didn't get any snow - just rain that afternoon. Then on Thursday morning we got a couple inches of snow and shockingly school wasn't cancelled as the forecast wasn't calling for any more snow. I couldn't believe it as we live in a hilly area and the driving conditions on our street were pretty bad. But, the bus did arrive with a bit of slipping and sliding and off to school the kids went.
A few hours later, the snow really started dumping on us. We hurried off to school to pick up the kids early before the roads got any worse. School is officially closed now until January and the snow isn't going anywhere as it is only 20 degrees this morning.
Here the kids are playing on our driveway while waiting for the school bus.
We have a great driveway for sledding. Even dad got in on some of the fun.
Going for a little walk in our neighborhood.
More sledding down driveways.
This ice rink is our street. More than one car has had some trouble getting up it.
I'm always amused by the winter wonderland photos of our house.
Sledding down our driveway, backwards.
Night time sled races were the hit of the evening.

Jenny and Jesse's Christmas Wedding in Tacoma
**Don't forget to nominate someone to receive $1000 worth of photography. Click here for more details**
I spent Saturday with Jesse and Jenny photographing their beautiful Christmas wedding. Jenny and Jesse are a wonderful couple, so much in love and so loved by their family and friends. It was an honor to share their special day with them.
I started out in the morning at the lovely home of one of Jenny's bridesmaids to photograph the girls getting ready.
One of the sweetest moments of the day came when one of the little flowergirls presented Jenny with a wedding gift she had made herself.
Next it was on to South Park Community Center in Tacoma to meet up with Jesse and have their first look.
Jenny and Jesse were very brave to go outside in freezing temperatures for few outdoor photos.
Before the ceremony, I spent some time photographing the details. The room was decorated with rose petals and candles.
This picture of Jenny peaking out to see guests arriving before the ceremony might be my favorite image of the day.
The ceremony was beautiful and emotions were running high.
A great time was had by all at the reception and dancing continued into the night. And it started to snow as Jesse and Jenny left for the night. What a perfect ending to a special day!
Jesse and Jenny, enjoy your sneak peak and I hope you are having a great time in Maui!
